School Meals

A healthy, nutritious lunch helps children stay focused, engaged and ready to learn throughout the school day.  At Tutshill C of E Primary School, school meals are provided by Caterlink, who offer a varied menu designed to support children's health and wellbeing.

To ensure your child receives their chosen meal, all school meals must be booked in advance through ParentPay at ParentPay.  We recommend booking and paying for meals a week at a time, although meals can be booked individually provided the booking is made before the 8.00am cut-off time on the day the meal is required.  Parents are welcome to book as far in advance as they wish, and ParentPay is the only system used for ordering school meals.

School Meal Costs

  • Reception, Year 1 and Year 2: Free under the Universal Infant Free School Meals programme.
  • Years 3, 4, 5 and 6: £2.95 per meal.
  • Children eligible for Free School Meals (FSM): Meals are provided free of charge.

Could Your Child Be Eligible for Free School Meals?

Free School Meals not only provide a nutritious lunch each day, but can also unlock valuable additional support for children and families. By registering for Free School Meals, eligible pupils may also help the school secure additional funding through the Pupil Premium, enabling us to provide enhanced learning opportunities, targeted support and enrichment experiences.

An Important Change from September 2026

The Government has announced a significant expansion of Free School Meal eligibility from September 2026. From the start of the 2026–27 academic year, all children in households receiving Universal Credit will be entitled to Free School Meals, regardless of household earnings. This change will enable many more families to benefit from free school lunches and the associated support available through schools.

If you think your child may be eligible, we encourage you to apply as soon as possible. Even if your child already receives Universal Infant Free School Meals in Reception, Year 1 or Year 2, registering your eligibility can provide additional benefits for both your child and the school.
